12th July 2005: Dr Yuri Gittik has been named RAD Data Communications' first Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). The announcement was made by RAD President and CEO, Efraim Wachtel.
As CSO, Dr Gittik will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic planning on the corporate level. He will also supervise RAD's strategic cooperation with carriers and vendors in the field of Next Generation access networks and R&D collaboration.
"The creation of this new position is an expression of RAD's resolve to maintain leadership in the dynamic and highly competitive access segment of the telecommunications industry," Wachtel stated in naming Gittik to the post. "Yuri has been entrusted to chart a strategic path for the company and charged with the responsibility to oversee that the required changes and new processes are enacted according to the organisation's strategic direction," Wachtel explained. "Yuri has a proven record of success in applying vision to practical goals, and, therefore, is the ideal candidate for this task."
Since coming to RAD in 1991, Dr Gittik has held various positions in product management, product marketing and sales. In 1999 he established RAD's Business Development Department, which he headed until his current appointment, and was instrumental in the company's entry into the emerging Ethernet access market, building up RAD's cooperation with its strategic partners as well as launching and developing RAD business in vertical markets. Prior to joining RAD, he held a variety of positions with a number of management consulting and research firms. Dr Gittik holds an MS in Systems Engineering and a PhD in Economics.
"RAD's commitment to strategy is indicative of its intention to ensure its further consistent growth," Dr Gittik added.
