RAD’s DXC family of digital cross connect devices enables fast rollout of services with minimal infrastructure outlay. DXC cross connect devices are the most compact and high-density systems of their kind, supporting a full range of services such as high-speed data, LAN connectivity and video streaming. Deployed at the customer premises, in the Local Loop or at the carrier’s points of presence (POP), these products support Last Mile solutions such as IDSL, HDSL, SHDSL, and fiber optics. DXC products also feature carrier-class protection and redundancy.
The DXC family consists of modular multiservice access and cross connect nodes that provide non-blocking DSO cross connect for up to 688 lines. Plug-in interface modules can accommodate links that support n x 56/65 kbps, ISDN, E1/T1, SHDSL, fully populated or fractional E3/T3, fully populated or fractional STM-1, and inverse multiplexing services. DXC products allow maximum flexibility between ports via a programmable connection table that connects any incoming 56/64 kbps timeslot to any outgoing one. They also support cross connect functions like drop-and-insert, distribute and collect. A-law/µ-law and signaling conversion is performed according to E1 and T1 standards.
DXC devices enable grooming of fractional user-side traffic into full E1/T1, E3/T3 or STM-1 trunks. They can broadcast any traffic combination from a single input to numerous destinations, and they support channel relocating and half duplex conferencing.
DXC solutions are also available for mobile applications – for example, the DXC-8R is used for TDM aggregation in 2G cellular environments.
