RAD Global Sales Grow by More Than 12% in 2006 to Reach US$168 Million

Sales to Oceania Increase by 29%
More Than 10 Million RAD Products Have Now Been Deployed Worldwide

17th January 2007: Privately held RAD Data Communications, now celebrating its 25th anniversary as a leading manufacturer of network access equipment for data communications and telecommunications applications, has announced that its consolidated revenues in 2006 reached US$168 million, an increase of more than 12 percent over the previous year’s figures.
At the same time, RAD marked another major milestone when the total number of its products that have been deployed worldwide surpassed the ten million mark.
North America remained RAD's largest market in 2006. RAD's international network of partners expanded during the course of the year, with new distributors signing on in Australia, China, Germany, France, Ghana, Japan, Poland, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, among other countries.
Australia is now RAD's eighth largest country market, while sales in Oceania grew by 29 percent.
"2006 proved to be a very profitable year in Australia. We opened a Sydney office, appointed a new Senior Business Development Manager and signed on a new channel partner, TR Corp, to support our sales efforts and growth," said Udi Furman, Managing Director of RAD in Australia.
"Most of the demand in the Australian market is for business Ethernet access solutions over PDH, SDH, fibre and wireless networks. RAD's success can be attributed to the high quality of its products, which are tailored for the needs of carriers and provide different solutions with the same level of service," Mr Furman said.
"The company's sales growth in 2006 reflects strong channel results over a broad geographical area, our success in winning a number of key tenders and a respectable market penetration for our new line of Ethernet access solutions," said Efraim Wachtel, President and CEO of RAD Data Communications. "Our growth level in 2006, which was impressive in comparison to the industry as a whole, makes us very optimistic regarding 2007," Wachtel continues. "We will broaden our focus in the year ahead by expanding our carrier-class solutions for Ethernet access over any infrastructure, cellular backhaul, voice traffic optimisation, pseudowire emulation, and multiservice applications over fibre."
The company works closely with prominent carriers and service providers to supply system solutions and expertise for building public and private access networks for virtually any technology over any infrastructure. RAD's customers also include banks and financial institutions, universities and other educational institutions, government agencies, heavy industry, the military, public utilities, and transportation authorities.
"Our quarter-century of growth has been the result of a unique synthesis of technology, products and support, joined by the commitment and dedication of our partners around the world," Wachtel concluded.
