RAD University Announces International Prize Competition

Communications, Computer Science and Engineering Students Throughout the World are Invited to Submit Tutorials

16th April 2007: RAD Data Communications, the industry-leading international manufacturer of telecommunications access solutions, has announced its first international prize competition for submissions to its RAD University website. The competition is open to all communications, computer science and engineering students currently registered at an accredited university or college anywhere in the world.
Students interested in participating in the competition are requested to submit a tutorial project covering one of six different topics: ICMP (including both IPv4 and IPv6), IPv6 auto-configuration, BGP (including updates for IPv6), OSPF (including updates for IPv6), WiMAX, and SSH. Gift certificates for winners and runners-up will be awarded in each of those topics, as well as the best-animated tutorial, the best interactive tutorial, and the best HTML tutorial. Submissions will be judged on technical accuracy, depth and scope of coverage of the topic, creativity in presentation, educational value, and entertainment level.

Educational and Entertaining Information

The RAD University website has gained wide popularity among students around the globe. It is dedicated to providing educational and entertaining tutorial information in the fields of communications and computer networking.
"We are gratified in knowing that RAD University has proven itself as a valuable resource tool for the next generation of communications industry professionals worldwide," states Dr Debby Koren, "Dean" of RAD University. "Over the past year RAD University received over one million visitors from over a hundred countries," she noted. "The average was more than 3,000 a day."

Projects must be submitted in HTML in English no later than 31st July. While each student may submit only one project, each project may be able to win more than one prize. Because the competition is open only to students who are registered at accredited institutions of higher education, RAD requests that a representative of an appropriate academic department assume responsibility for submissions from that institution and contact Dr. Koren for submission instructions.
