"The IPmux-24 allows cellular backhaul transport providers to meet the specific needs of mobile operators," Agam explains. "Because these providers host multiple operators, they must be able to simultaneously support each operator's chosen
backhaul technology, from delay-sensitive CDMA and EVDO to timing-sensitive GSM and UMTS," he adds. RAD's new ASIC enables the IPmux-24 to transport backhaul traffic over IP, Ethernet or MPLS networks using any standard TDM emulation technology, and with the lowest latency and most precise timing. For advanced data services, such as 4G WiMAX, the IPmux-24 can also be used as an Ethernet demarcation device based on its flexible Ethernet bridge support for 802.1D and 802.1Q networks, including Q-in-Q and rate limitation, while ensuring the priority and quality of the TDM service.
